We Don't Need an Oblivion Remake, We Deserve Morrowind Instead
Description
Oblivion remake? Jim wants a Morrowind remake! The Oblivion remaster or remake may or may not be imminent. Or for that matter, real. It's definitely plausible: Oblivion is a hugely popular game that a lot of people remember fondly from the Xbox 360 and PS3 days, but it hasn't had anywhere near as much love as its sequel Skyrim, which has enjoyed so many re-releases that it has become a long-running gaming meme. There is, however, an earlier Elder Scrolls game that receives much less attention from its developer, and that is The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind: a game in dire need of sprucing up.

Though mods and fan projects such as OpenMW, Morroblivion, and Skyblivion promise to keep these old classics running beautifully on modern PCs, an official release would be nice, and far more likely to end up on consoles such as the PS5 (PlayStation 5) and Nintendo Switch 2, meaning that more players will be able to experience these classic adventures without any awkward barriers or technical hurdles to overcome.
But Oblivion still plays beautifully, especially on Xbox Series X, where it runs at a butter-smooth 4K 60fps. So our Jim Trinca, resident Elder Scrolls obsessive and man who says things, thinks Bethesda should skip the Oblivion remaster and get on with a full ground-up remake of the Pseud's Favourite Bethesda Game: Morrowind. Although they should probably finish TES 6 first.
