RuneScape 2 was the name offered to RuneScape when Jagex launched a beta variation of what is now called RuneScape, on 1 December 2003 (RuneScape 2 Beta is Right Here!). The functioning name was RuneScape 3D., to identify it from what is currently known as RuneScape Classic, which used 2D graphics.
