The Truth Behind my Best Cities Skylines Map | and yes, it's kinda embarrassing

In this episode, I finish the map creation by focusing on the hillsides, waterways and mountains. I’m pulling lots of inspiration from various open world video game maps and considering how everything will be linked and brought together through rail lines and roads. I always want to incorporate many biomes and environments within my maps and make each part unique and identifiable. Now it’s complete, what will we call this place?


This is something I have been working on for 6 months. A love letter to Cities Skylines 1, a game that is at it's peak. This series is set in 1960s Australia with a big focus on steam trains and transportation. Inspired by and in the spirit of model train sets, this will be my forever project.
