Welcome back! In this episode, we build a beautiful, classic main street. The area has recently received some big revitalization dollars, but unfortunately the old brick buildings are surrounded by ugly parking lots built on the sites of buildings demolished to make way for cars in the 1950s and 1960s.

SERIES INFO
In this short series, I'll be building a small city set in the Midwest. It's inspired by Oshkosh, Wisconsin but it's meant to be a distant railroad suburb of Chicago that is the terminus of a Metra line. I'll be exploring how Midwest cities and towns experienced and responded to deindustrialization. I'll also be looking at what kinds of development strategies have been employed in more recent years to revive city cores.
