Are tips essential for Elden Ring newcomers to get good? An actual beginner finds out

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is out and it's got me excited to play all over again and this time I'm stepping into the Lands Between for the first time. Having not touched a Souls game in nearly a decade though I wanted to know if maybe some research first might be needed. Can a newbie jump on Torrent and have a great time or will some research be needed to take down my first boss? I documented my first few hours of the game to see what tips are actually needed.
