Back in the 2000s, acclaimed director Guillermo del Toro made not one, but two Hellboy movies that critics and fans enjoyed. But while the directer actively tired to get a third one made, we ultimately wound up with a completely separate reboot, coming to theaters this week. But why didn’t we get del Toro’s Hellboy 3? Were the movies actually not that good, and the studio wanted something better?
